Zodiac symbols

Post by JamesDean »

Not to long ago on a lesbian forum (I was there asking for advice regarding my fiancee) I found a very detailed description of each Zodiac sign and the traits of the people born under that sign. I am a Libra, and though it was geared towards more women, the description was about 90% consistent with the way I am, which is a very high number.

My question is, how accurate has everyone else found these descriptions? Mine fits so well that it is a little hard to call it mere coincedence, but I'm wondering whether I am a rare exception or if there is more to it than meets the eye.

I'm a Virgo, but I have a fairly fiery personality. To tell the truth, I'm quite sceptical of zodiac signs. My sister and I were born on the same day, and yet we're as different as chalk and cheese. The idea that the day on which you were born can greatly affect your personality does not appeal to me. It just smacks of predestination.

However, this is not to say that they have no meaning and of course many people place great stock in them. These are just my thoughts and responses.

theres alot more too it then being born on the same day, what we are referring to is a generalisation of our birth sign and it's associated characteristics. astrology gets way more detailed but the more detailed you go the more aspects there are, such a time and place of birth the position of the planets at that plus more. it doesnt seem like pre-destination to me

I know there is a lot more to it, and if it's something people enjoy researching etc then that's great. But me - I just make my judgements on who I am from who I feel that I am.

Each to their own. Diversity is the spice of life after all!

I used to cast horoscopes, mainly natal charts for friends and family. Astrology is a useful tool for character traits and aptitudes, it can be predictive to an extent, in that someone with certain traits and aptitudes will be drawn to areas in life which reflect these traits. It does not predict the future. I believe the same is true of Tarot, which is connected with Astrology. I am Aquarius with Scorpio ascendant and Taurus moon, fits me like a glove - I am as stubborn and fixed in my ideas as you can get! lol.

I've never had my charts analyzed before, but I've always been really curious to find out more! I get a kick out of reading my horoscope, but I never give it any substance. The attributes of people under each sign are really interesting, though. It makes sense to me that people would be influenced by these things but they don't have to be defined by them. After all, if someone can be influenced by the frequency of a color then they can surely be influenced by the pull of the galaxies.

I am Aquarius Sun and Moon with a Cancer rising.

My emotions are stuck between to cold and stubborn signs. My inner feelings try to come out but wind up being aloof or just plain irrational blow ups occur. Sometimes I feel trapped But I know that this is just a characteristic that I have to diligently work on.

Maybe Aquarius is there keeping these emotions in check?

We are the sum total of our planets, not just our sun sign.
The sun sign is so limiting. It is only the ego.
The rising sign is our outward expression of self.
Our moon sign is how we react on an emotional level.
Our mercury sign governs communication and how we reason or think.
Our venus sign shows the things we appreciate in life, and our ability to love.
Our mars sign shows what we will fight for.
Our saturn sign shows our tenacity.

Then we must consider the houses each of these planets reside in, for they show the area of our lives most affected.
Are they in rulership, detriment, fall or exalted? This will determine their strength in the house and the sign they occupy.

And finally, we must consider the aspects these planets form to no only each other, but to the houses they rule. Is it 30, 60, 120 degrees? This would show an easy flow of energy. Is it 45, 90 or 150 degrees? This would show that there is tension between the two, and tension can be used for good or bad, depending upon the soul developement of the person.

To put everyone in a nutshell is not the way of astrology. Our planets and their sign, as well as placement by house, aspectation and pattern determines the 'bones' of what we have to work with in this sojourn.

They are simply the energies we draw on in our lives, and we choose how to use them, for good or for bad. Human free will.

For example: The energy of Mercury is communication. At it's best, it could be the foreign diplomat that negotiates peace talks between nations at war. At it's worst it could be the double spy who carries espionage secrets and instigates war. Same energy, different uses. Energy runs the gambit from black to white and all shades of gray in between. This is why some of the descriptions of your 'sign' may or may not fit you.

Here is one site where you can get your chart drawing for free along with interpretations. It is by no means the only site on the internet.

Go to chart drawing.
Put in info (time has to be exact, ck your birth certificate)
Go to 'free horoscopes' at the top of the page after doing your chart.
