I have 3 cats and we used to use clay litter... Well it would get EVERYWHERE... the floor, my bed, the couch... their mouths... we have switched to hamster bedding (commonly known as wood shavings) and have noticed a distinct improvement in their general health and wellbeing as well as the odour in our home... so for all you cat lovers out there, give it a thought... it's like $10-$12 for the 1200 sq ft bag and it has lasted us about 5 months and we are only 2/3 through the bag. Definitely cheaper too.. I recommend the cedar pine mix by the way.. it smells wonderful and it can be used as tinder in a pinch as well.

My cats are giant jerks... I tried switching to hamster bedding once and they insisted on pooping RIGHT OUTSIDE the box.
