Haha, Merry May to you too, 'bird. The weather's just beautiful here, not too hot (yet), not cool.... just right. We had a few rains here and there, which were welcomed and refreshing. Now, it's sunshine and a gentle breeze. School is winding down for everyone. The outdoors are calling me, and I do see some hiking, camping and fishing on yonder horizon!

Woohoo, Merry May!

My circle & I celebrated Beltane this Saturday. First we wove ribbons around the Maypole, and then had a wonderful vegetarian feast. Afterwards, I led a ritual of my own creation where I played the role of the Firebird, to welcome in Spring, and we danced around a firepit (it was the most involved ritual I've led by far). It was quite the blast! We also discussed the possibility of coven-ing (is that a verb?). All in all, my favorite Sabbat celebration yet!

Merry May everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful Beltane celebration. I spend it with few friends, we did a May pole, inside because of the rain but it was fun anyway. We had a great feast, we read fairy stories we loved and shared our hopes for this new season. We also lighted up candles for our friends who couldn't join us :)

How cool Xiao ! ! Sounds like your group is really coming along, and yes covening ceremony is in order it would seem :fairy:
when when ?
Herzen, I reaaly like the candles for absent friends, we usually toast them at least when the cup goes around. How's the drought where you live? I think we would dance the pole in the rain!
I had quite a lot of celebrations and fun,
Back in Albuquerque I was very happy to circle with my original covenmates at their public ritual atthe UU church,
I had a bit of my own ceremony on Walpurgis night, ...
on the 1st we went to our spot in the Santa Monicas and had great fun, sang Hal en tow and danced around a floral ring,
on Saturday I joined with a local Druid group in the park for a sweet service that included harp players,
on Sunday I provided the May pole at yet another public ritual designed to cater to the local solitaries... we sang and danced about and had a raucous good time.
whew! I'm pooped!
Hip hip hooray tis FINALLYMay !!!
I may sleep all month...hahaha

Firebird : The candles were our hostess of the day idea actually. After the ritual we took the candles of the absent so we could give it to them when we'll see them. This way they have a souvenir of this day too. We would have loved to do it outside, even under the rain, but I lived near Paris in France and with the rain it can be really muddy. We didn't want to risk that one of us slips.

@ FB: No idea when we'll coven! Just something we're tossing around at the moment. As someone who works in administration, naturally I want to write up a mission statement for that whole endeavor! Although I'm planning on PMing you and asking you about your experiences as an HPs and all, if you don't mind ; )
