Electra's Book of Shadows

Post by asthesunlovesthemoon »

I believe that it's time that I make this. Though, I have not done any of these rituals/spells, it's nice to have them when I'm ready. I'd be open to any suggestions or comments. Thank you.

Something tells me this is a really bad idea for the situation I'm in with my family, but I would feel so much better doing this.

Shall we begin?

Hearken as the witches' word
calls to All, a gulf to ford.
Bridge the vast realities,
An it harm none, do as ye please.

Elements protect and guard this book,
From wandering eyes and prying looks.
Fill it with thine ancient power,
In this right and ready hour.

Powers of North, the East below,
Help me to live, to learn, to grow.
Lend your strength and stability,
To practice the Craft and with love be free.

Powers of East, the Wind, the Sky,
Watch over these pages with thine eye.
Your wisdom and knowledge, for these I do ask,
That this book be worthy of the Craft and its task.

Powers of South, Fire, and the Hearth,
Help these Shadows to prove their worth.
Infuse them with all your Healing and Passion,
So only good comes from the Work that is fashioned.

Powers of West, the Water and Sea,
Change and growth are granted by thee.
Bless these pages with all that you know,
That righteous readers may learn and grow.

And to the unschooled eye that see
Confusing words and sophistry,
Lead them from these sacred pages,
And bless their passage through the ages.

For free will of all,
And harm of none,
As I have willed it,
It is now done.

So mote it be!

The Witch's Creed

Post by asthesunlovesthemoon »

Hear now the words of the witches,
the secrets we hid in the night,
when dark was our destiny's pathway,
that now we bring forth in the light.

Mysterious water and fire,
the earth and the wide-ranging air,
by hidden quintessence
we know them,
and will and keep silent and dare.

The birth and rebirth of all nature,
the passing of winter and spring,
we share with the life universal,
rejoice in the magickal ring.

Four times in the year the Great Sabbat
returns, and the witches are seen
at Lammas and Candlemas dancing,
on May Eve and old Hallowe'en.

When the day-time and night-time are equal
when sun is at greatest and least,
the four Lesser Sabbats are summoned,
and again gather Witches in feast.

Thirteen silver moons in a year.
Thirteen is the coven's array.
Thirteen times at Esbat make merry,
for each golden year and a day.

The power was passed down the ages
each time between woman and man,
each century unto the other,
ere time and the ages began.

When drawn is the magickal circle,
by sword or athame of power,
its compass between the two worlds lies
in land of the shades for that hour.

This world has no right then to know it,
and world of beyond will tell naught.
The oldest of Gods are invoked there,
the Great Work
of magick is wrought.

For two are the mystical pillars
that stand at the gate of the shrine,
and two are the powers of nature,
the forms and the forces divine.

The dark and the light in succession,
the opposites each unto each
shown forth as a God and a Goddess:
of this did our ancestors teach.

By night He's the wild wind's rider,
the Horn'd One, the Lord of the Shades.
By day he's the King of the Woodland,
the dweller in green forest glades.

She is youthful or old s She pleases,
She sails the torn clouds in Her barque
the bright silver lady of midnight,
the crone who weaves spells in the dark.

The master and mistress of magick,
they dwell in the deeps of the mind
immortal and ever-renewing,
with power to free or to bind.

So drink the good wine to the Old Gods
and dance and make love in their praise,
till Elphame's
fair land shall receive us
in peace at the end of our days.

And do what you will be the challenge,
so be it in love that harms none,
for this is the only commandment.
By magic of old it be done!

Eight words the Witch's Creed fulfill:
If it harms none, do what you will!

Whenever you are feeling anxious, take several deep breaths and repeat the following until you have calmed down.

Nervous anxiety, you are dead.
Lord and lady, soothe my head.
Bring me to your calming peace
as I will, so mote it be.

Cleansing Your Aura

Post by asthesunlovesthemoon »

Meditate and visualize your aura, all the good and bad energies like a living blanket of energy. Then visualize a small white ball radiating from your breastbone, inside the aura.

While taking deep and rhythmic breaths, make the ball expand. As it expands and comes into contact with your aura, you will feel a mild tingling sensation. This is the pure energy acting to "burn off" the negativity and negative emotions attached to your aura.

Continue to expand the ball until it completely encompasses you. You may hear a ringing in your ears, or a sizzling/static-like noise. That's ok.

Hold this image in your mind until you feel certain the negative energy has been diffused.

Take a deep breath and hold it while you visualize that white light becoming like fog, dissipating around you, falling harmlessly away.

What remains should be your normal, at-rest aura.

You may want to do this several times the first week, then maybe once a month (or more during periods of stress) thereafter.

Protection Chant

Post by asthesunlovesthemoon »

If you are feeling uneasy, nervous or threatened, try repeating this chant quietly to yourself.

Divine Goddess, Goddess Divine,
Divine God, God Divine,
If evil dwells within this place,
Please make it leave my space.

Knot Spell to Banish Problems

Post by asthesunlovesthemoon »

Take cotton yarn in the appropriate color of the problem (green for money, red for love, etc) and pour out your fears and problems in to the yarn. Tie it up in knots to symbolize how "tied-up" you feel. Take it outside and let the wind blow it away along with your negativity. Go back inside and take a ritual bath or shower cleansing.

Best done during the full moon

My Beliefs

Post by asthesunlovesthemoon »

1. After Death:
I do not want to believe in the traditional Heavan or Hell. I don't think someone should be tortured for eternity, even after they realize what they did was wrong. I believe in karma: whatever you do, you get back three times worse. I also believe that the Universe takes intention into consideration. I believe you are punished until you learn from your karma. I believe after death, spirits become part of the Universe itself and sort of dwell everywhere, in the rain, the wind. This could also be where karma comes in when you didn't get your karma in life. You could be stuck. I believe that spirits become trapped when there is something they need to do or haven't fulfilled. I believe that reincarnation can also happen when you didn't actually live your life, and also for bad karma, or if you deserve another chance.

2. Gods/Goddesses:
I believe that in a way, every religion is correct. Polytheistic religions have several dieties, and they all represent a force in the Universe. Monotheistic religions look at all of the forces as one. I believe that every God or Goddess is a representation of an element which the Universe is comprised of.
