Hi,
I have heard people talk about Cernunnos, but I don't know very much about him. I have always liked the God Pan, and Cernunnos seems similar in some ways.
Marie de France wrote a lay in the 12C which features a white stag that is hermaphroditic, do you think she might be referring to Cernunnos? This is a link to it (the stag is present in paragraph 5 and 6).

How can I learn more about Celtic pantheon? I am pretty busy right now, are there any good websites?

Re: Cernunnos
Well she is obviously referring to a magickal creature which very well could be a god or goddess. As far as Cernunnos or Cerne or Herne which HE is often called is a male deity not a hermaphrodite. Unless I read the passage incorrectly it said that he was chasing the stag and went to far and then came upon a doe which is a female deer. SO I'm not positive its the same creature but I did only skim it so I could be incorrect.

There's a song by Faith And The Muse.
Go to their website and look at the lyrics for the song. It''s really awesome.
