Re: How to find your patron deities?

I would also recommend the book "Devoted To You" by Judy Harrow for some excellent information on finding and working with Patron Deities. I think you'd find it useful.

Re: Wicca:An Introduction

I must disagree with a portion of the original post. Wicca is NOT an ancient religion although it draws inspiration from the religions of pre-Christian Europe. The religion of Wicca was synthesized by Gerald Gardner in the 1940's and made public by him in the 1950's following the repeal of the Anti-...

Re: The Wiccan Rede

There are a number of different versions of the Rede that have been created over the years. Anyone interested in the variations and in this history of the Rede might enjoy The Wiccan Rede Project at http://web.archive.org/web/200312180010 ... index.html

Re: High priest/priestess

Since the topic has come up, I thought it might be a good time to discuss the degree system in Wicca so that those who have not worked in a coven setting might have a better understanding of both the history of degrees and the process of earning a degree. Let's start out by defining the term "D...

The best thing to do when you are invited to a circle is to ask the person inviting you to tell you what to expect and what will be expected of you. But mostly just remember your manners and treat it as you would being invited to someone's home. Here's some tips you might find useful: http://paganwi...

According to "Animal Speak" by Ted Andrews if Mouse appears in your life its energy will last most strongly for 5-6 weeks, so this is likely something which you need to pay attention to right now. "When Mouse shows up as a totem it is either time to pay attention to details,or an indi...

In Neo-Pagan beliefs Akasha is generally used as another word for Spirit when talking about the five Elements. However, Akasha is also used in some of the Eastern Religions. Even there it is similar to the concept of Spirit. You might want to read this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akasha -L...

Sometimes I use my athame to represent the God. Sometimes I use the antler of a stag. But I also have statues of Herne, Anubis, Tehuti, and Menthu that I use if I want a specific representation of a specific God for my rituals.

I've been part of a coven since 1990 and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I initially trained within a coven until 1996 when I received my 3rd Degree and formed a coven of my own. I led that coven of nearly 30 members until Midsummer 2008 when I stepped down into Elder status and became...

Anything by Scott Cunningham is worth reading, he did "write the book" on wicca. It still bothers me that he's male... but whatever... lol. . Why would it bother you that Scott was male? Wicca is not a women's religion, it is a religion which honors the divine in both male and female. And...

Hi there, I’ve been practicing Wicca for a good many years now and one of the first questions that comes up is the one about where to start. My suggestion is always to start by doing some reading and studying to make certain that you understand what Wicca is really all about, and so that you can t...

Sekhmet

Sekhmet (Sakhmet, Sekhet) is one of the oldest of the Egyptian deities (Netjer) in Egyptian history. Daughter of Ra, the Sun God and King of the Gods, some of Her titles reflect her great antiquity. (Lady at the Beginning of Time and One Who Was Before The Gods Were.) As a form of the Great Mother, ...
