How do you when you're ready to do readings for others

Post by Clairsentient_Wolf »

how do you know when you're ready to do readings for people? I have a tarot card deck, Egyptian, and I want to learn to use it (which I'm a self taught person so I will learn it) but instinctively...when do you know you're ready?
Strong men run into battle and destroy their foes;
Wise men wait for their foes to destroy themselves.

I would make sure that you're comfortable with your cards, and are getting accurate readings from them. Then you're ready! There's not really any "signs" (from my personal experience anyway), just intuition. If you want to give readings, then chances are, it's time to give readings.

Personally, I've only found the Tarot to be successful when you're divining on behalf of yourself. Doing readings for other people is fraught with challenges, to the point where I don't recommend doing it at all.

But Falcon Heart is right. Common sense would dictate that if you wanted to do readings, it's simply a case of being comfortable with your cards and spreads.

When doing a reading for someone else, be prepared to hear that you can't possibly be right. In such a case, don't take it personally. Sometimes a reading is off. Sometimes a reading is spot on, but the recipient doesn't like what it says.

Sometimes the reading is on but the meaning is talking about something hidden in the subconscious or some other place where the recipient isn't entirely aware of it yet and may later have an "aha" moment.

I've never had issues reading for others with Tarot.

I've had troubles reading for myself, never for others.

I would just go with the flow and try with friends. If you're wrong , it's ok. You'd be surprised how right you are even as a noob tho.
