Hematite

Post by gwenblackbird »

What are the type of things that Hematite can do?

Here's a picture of how they look.

Hematite is a Projective stone that is good for healing, grounding, and scrying.

For healing, hold it in your Projective hand while visualizing the healing of whatever ailment you're going after, then place the stone on the body directly over the affected area.

For Grounding you can wear or carry this stone.

For scrying, light a red candle and hold the Hematite so that the candle flame is reflected on it. Then gaze at that reflection and visualize your question. The answer will come to you.

Hope this helped some. Good luck and Blessings to you!

Scrying is Divination. Divination is the magical process through which glimpses of the future or answers to problems are presented. Think of gazing into a crystal ball. It's the same thing.

Your Projective hand is your dominant hand. Most people are right-handed so that is their dominant, or Projective, hand. You Receptive hand is the other one.

I have noticed that for most energy work, my right hand is dominant. But for things such as projecting healing energy, my left hand seems to take over. Does this happen on occasion, or am I doing something wrong?

gwenblackbird, Thank you for pasting that beautiful picture of hematite in your posting! Once, at a particularly trying time during my Earthwalk, I was directed by Spirit to take 4 hematite stones and place each at the four corners of my mattress, to "ground" my sleep. The stones I happened to choose (or that chose me! I should say) were powerfully magnetic. Once they're stuck together, it's tough pulling them apart. So they were particularly adept at "pulling" the negativity away from my aura, and I slept quite peacefully.

Then, I moved from that dwelling place, and in the current place I live, I was directed by Spirit to ground my entire bedroom by placing hematite in the four corners of the room, as well as hanging sprigs of sage over the doorway and window (to purify or expel energies that enter either portal depending on the energy's motives, whether to upbuild, or to tear down).

I am deeply grateful for the richness and spiritual/physical health that The Stone People have brought to my and my family's lives during this Earthwalk, especially hematite. I hope this posting gives you some additional ideas for enjoying the benefits of this stone. But your Earthwalk is different from mine, so you will have different needs. So whatever "urges" or funny feelings you get will be Spirit teaching you, personally, how to interact with the stones. Follow this guidance and you will enjoy expansion of your awareness and knowledge. Be sure to post your experiences here and share them with us.

Enjoy.

Kassandra, that's a great story and fantastic advice! Thank you!

Deltachange, that does happen on occasion. My left arm is stronger than my right even though I'm right-handed so sometimes I have the same thing happen or a switch takes place. If it doesn't give you problems and the ritual still works I would just go with it but that's me. In a lot of ways there are no hard-and-fast rules in Shamanism or Paganism in general. Since Spirits, manifestations of Elements, and humankind all have individualism and unique experience each ritual scenario is going to be different. Go with what is most comfortable and works for you.

Blessings to all!

Alright, so I'm kind of confused about the Grounding part, what exactly is it and how do you do it?

Grounding is the creation or reinforcement of of a strong connection between a person's spirit, physical body, and the Earth. Grounding centers and stabilizes us as well as reaffirms our Earthly roots. For instance, if you feel out-of-balance in the physical or spiritual realms, Grounding will help you realign your balance and control. For purposes of Divination and especially Astral Projection it is best if you use Grounding in conjunction with your ritual so that your spirit will remember the location of your physical body. Basically, Grounding helps center you, stabilize you, and 'keeps your feet on the ground' in the sense that you won't go flying off on some tangent or get lost in the shuffle of Life.

Many stones can be used for Grounding. Dark brown and Black stones are all 'Base' and as such can be used for Grounding. There are several very powerful specific Grounding stones and these are: Hematite, Kunzite, Moonstone, Obsidian, Salt, and Black Tourmaline.

The process for using a stone for Grounding is simple. Place it in your Projective hand and visualize your need to remain centered and stable in everyday Life events, your 'feet firmly planted on the ground' in a manner of speaking. Visualize this steady, strong, stable energy flowing down your arm and into the stone. Soon you should sense the stone vibrating with the same steady, strong, sable energy you envisioned. When you do, the process is complete. Then wear or carry the stone on you.

To us a Grounding stone in a ritual such as Astral Projection you would use the same basic procedure but visualize the firm, stable, strong connection between your physical and spiritual self. Here you are using it as a 'beacon' of stability so that your out-of-body self can easily find its way back to your physical self.

Hope this helped some! Good luck and Blessings to you gwenblackbird!

I wish that you all lived near so that I could have actual help and guidance.
Oh well, this is good enough for me.

You're always welcome! It would be nice if someday many of us could gather in one place for a meet-and-greet, or conference, or something. Until The Elements decide you can still take heart in the knowledge-as I do-that help and understanding is never more than a keyboard away!

Development group for practice

Post by Kassandra »

Thanks One Walker for your kind words. gwenblackbird, I totally agree with you. There's an exchange of energy when learning with other people that is very beneficial, when you're trying to develop spiritual abilities. Try one of the following:

* Inquire at a local metaphysical bookstore in your area about what's called a "development circle" or "development group." These are generally pretty tight groups, and once they get "started," they generally don't let new people in until a certain pre-determined stretch of time has elapsed (like classes in college). This is just because it tends to upset the balance of energy that's already been established, not because of any secrecy thing. You can just catch them at their next opening. Some of the top psychics in the business started out learning their craft through years of faithfully attending development circles

* Go to Meetup.com and search for a metaphysical group near you. Every group has its own personality and emphasis.

* Attend a Spiritualist Church near you. Their religion is based on psychic mediumship! They usually have metaphysical classes open to the public available after service. But their services are very interesting because .....well, you just have to attend one and find out. You don't have to be a member to attend. Check out their website for more information, and to locate a church near you: http://www.nsac.org/churches.htm

That's what I came up with from the top of my head. Let us know what you decide to do.
