Weird question: Is it wrong to be in love with a god?

I don't want to go quite into detail because it's a little embarrassing I think, but is it? Does it depend on the god? I mean, I can't imagine it, because it doesn't really lead to anything. Idk though. I just feel bad anytime I think about it because I feel I'm weird and that it's...blashphemous?? Aghhh idk, it just keeps plagueing my mind.

Love is the most powerful feeling of all. This is what binds you to your God...this is how you worship and how you get the power. I think everybody's relationship with their God or Goddess also involves love in different stages and forms. My Goddess is Mother Nature and I love her like a mother, while she loves me back as a child. You and your God can have the brotherly or the virile kind of love. It depends on how your God chooses to work and how you feel comfortable. My advice would be to carry on....love can't harm either of you and if he doesen't like it, you'll know!

I've heard of people marrying Odin. Also an ancient priesthood to Amun i think it was.

Likewise I have heard of some priestesses in Vodun marrying the loa. It's not all that uncommon. But sometimes it's merely symbolic.

Love is an entanglement of Spirit, mind and body. There should be love enveloping the student and God/Goddess to facilitate an intimate connection. Christian indoctrination instills shame and nastiness to sexuality. (immaculate conception, recreational sex without possibility of conception, etc.) Sexual ideations is probably the prime mover for male-female interrelationships. That being said, it has little to do with exchange of love between mortal and Divinity.

There are times when the soul's relationship with Divinity can only be understood & described with terms we'd use to describe the intimacy one feels with their spouse. Religious vows of celibacy are based on spiritual concepts.

My cousin was a Nun till she came to her senses. They marry Christ. Ring and ceremony, the whole bit. I never asked her if they had cake. She's 8 - 10 years older then I am. When I was a smarty pants kid I yanked her chain with "The convent must have really great furniture and shelving. Your married to a carpenter.". I'm sure that now that I'm a smarty pants adult (sort of) I could think of a better joke. From the Aramaic it means more like general contractor.
