Oodles of gems...
Hubby's health is failing, he warned me of this when
we got married. He warned me of a heart-attack coming,
his Mom had 5 attacks, his older Sis 3, younger Sis 1, and
young brother had a silent one and a stint put in. Their
Dad's heart 30 days after a pacemaker his heart exploded.
I've been watching "Prospectors" on the weather channel,
one found a sweet spot and he's pulling topaz the size of
the palm of your hand AND bigger ! He made $325,000
last year ! I wanna go !
I'm a rock hound, have been my whole life. I'm going to
go to Colorado and dig a few holes...I can't wait !
The gem show in Denver biggest only to Vegas ! I figure
that's how I can get the info I need to do this. I don't mind
living in a motorhome ! I've been thinking lately, maybe I'll
go in with another to learn what I need to before I strike
out on my own. There's gemstones here in Calif. but I have
no one off hand who'd go with me yet. I'd really like it to
not do it alone yet, what if I got hurt and couldn't get back
to my motorhome ???
Anyone have any experience and can share some info ?
Even a little bit would be appreciated !

The one piece of advice I would offer right now is to go to Tucson, AZ in February, and just look around and ask a lot of questions! Tucson is the absolute BIGGEST rock/gem/mineral/fossil show in the country. Check out their prices vs what they say on that show. Talk to some of the other collectors about what you have to do to get and keep a claim.
All that glitters is not gold, or even topaz!
Just my $0.02

Re: Oodles of gems...
I understand what you're saying...and
thanks for your reply !
I had planned to talk to lots of people,
miners, gem dealers and who ever it is
that deals with giving the permits. I want
to know how much land, square feet each
claim is...etc.
I've been thinking about doing this for
quite awhile. I've just started getting serious
about it so I can understand what's going to
entail. I have a county building that was recently
built-darn light pollution !
I have no intention of staying in this freedom
restricting apartment complex. It's considered
"working on vehicle if I put water in radiator !
Screw that !
I also have a friend whose going to need some
help and I thought this would help her...
I'll get hubby's ss so I won't be starving if I don't
find oodles of gems the first day, I'm not delusional !
