Basically, these qualities are so, so, so applicable to my life.Ziricote
Wood Origin: Central and South America
Gender Association: Masculine
Planetary Association: Sun, Saturn, Moon
Elemental Association: Fire
Magical properties: A somewhat peculiar wood in that, despite its very strong
masculine energy, it is primarily a nurturing energy. Often we
associate masculinity with aggressive behavior or violence, but
this is not always the case. When describing the energy of this
wood, the best analogy is that of the protective and nurturing
father.
This wood is extremely protective in nature, and would be an
excellent tool for those doing shielding spells or who are in need
of added defensive energy. It will bring about a peaceful feeling
in the home, free of danger.
Ziricote is an excellent tool for bringing love into one's life. It
does this by helping a person to love themselves, encouraging a
positive self image. For those with self esteem issues that keep
others at bay, this would be an invaluable resource.
An assertive wood, it will help a person take strong and decisive
action. Not a boost in luck energy, this wood relies instead on
making choices, cause and effect. It would be a great aid to
those who find that they are unable to make up their minds
about things, or who are easily distracted.
Finally, this wood is an excellent healing tool. Like the flame
cleanses, this wood can burn away illness and negativity. It also
encourages clear communication between people.
While I'm at it, I'm going to attach a picture of a rattle that I use a lot in ritual. I purchased it some time ago from a popular shamanic supply website that claims their rattles are "hand crafted in the Peruvian Amazon". The one I have has a hummingbird on one side, a flower on the other, and has two hummingbird feathers at the top.
I may post some of my other ritual items in this thread later on down the line.
