Hiya Celestia
I would prefaces this with this is my opinion and ik several people who would say go right ahead, you dont learn untill you try, or who have grown up in the path and were taught from young age so they already do work as young as 11 and stuff like that but me personally I believe this:

I would say your sister is old enough to start researching and learning about the craft, but until she researches and learns how to best go about her workings and path in general that she should stick to very very simple things. For example it would be more then acceptable to carry around a rock whose properties she wishes (example Obsidian for protection) to use but i would suggest leaving the spell spells for later once she knows what her path is, who she wishes to work with, how to cast a circle and protect herself. she must first learn the basics and understand her intent before she can truely practice. Things like this are a must before you ever attempt to do a spell on your own.

Hi celestia, you should probably post this in the General Questions section, not the introductions.

I'm moving this thread to the General Questions section. Please open a new thread in the introduction thread and tell us a bit about yourself. :)

My advice for an 11 year old is the same for a 50 year old. If you're interested in learning about witchcraft, wicca, or any other belief system, start by reading as much as you can get your hands on and see where it takes you.

I think if the way she learns is safe and she feels it's the right time to start witchcraft then why not. There's no age to read books and learn new things, but she needs to know to be careful when she'll start to practice :)

If you're old enough to have an interest in it, I say there is no rule on what age you have to be. But that's just me, I grew up in a very open-minded accepting home and never had to fear being myself.

People are born into their religions as well, so they are right there from birth whether it's a Christian, Pagan, Muslim or Judaic path.

But if you're talking just doing witchcraft I would recommend you get her some good books to read first and don't just start dabbling in spells for the fun of it.

When I was younger, I started with spells to find lost objects like my Silly Putty!

I think maturity and interest matter more than biological age. When we first start to accept responsibility for the consequence of our action, we're old enough to begin.

Covens however require whatever the legal age is in your location.
