I thought I'd seen everything. This is rare and bizarre, but apparently not that uncommon that it's not been heard of before by the medical community. But wow, I could not have made this up in a million years.

This condition is extremely rare, and it occurs when one twin grows
larger than the other, and the smaller twin is actually absorbed into
the body of the other. It affects 1 in 500,000 births.

Incredibly is one word for it. Being a twin myself, that's downright scary. I think I'll give my brother a wide berth for a bit.
