Have yet to get my hands on Thea Sabin's book. However I'm finding 'Wicca: A Guide For The Solitary Practicioner' by Scott Cunningham rather informative and have Raymond Buckland's book on standby for the next one to read :)

GreenArcher,
You might want to check out Christopher Penczak's Temple series,
these are easily a year and a day in these, hope you like it !

I don't have any good book recommendations as I am not Wiccan, however I had to poke my head in to say that I know quite a few males who are Wiccan. ^_^ Religion knows no gender~ Do what your heart wants and be happy doing it! Welcome to the forum, I look forward to seeing more from you and wish you luck with your journey!

Im in a class sheer we are using Wicca A year and a day 366 days to crafting a spiritual practice by Timothy Roderick. It is an awesome guide and next year he is coming out with a part 2 of this book which will be the 2nd year of study

Suggested books for a beginner

Post by hannahsue11 »

I am trying to learn as much about Wicca and Witchcraft as possible. What are some good reads for a novice such as myself? I've seen suggestions online, but I would like your opinions. Thank you! :fairy:

Ultimately, though I've moved on, it's hard to beat Ray Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft if you're starting out.

Vesca, I will certainly do that asap! Thank you for your answer!

Imperious, I'll add that book to my reading list. A lot of websites I read mentioned it as well. Thank you!

It's fluffy and simple, but I really think something has to be said for "Green Witchcraft" by Ann Moura. It was a good beginner read and very nature focused. It covers most of the bases including the wheel of the year. I liked her voice and tone. I think Imperious is quite correct in saying Buckland's "Big Blue" (as we like to call it) is an essential foundation about one path. It may not be your path, but knowledge is power and a good foundation builds a good structure.

Wichcraft Study Book Suggestions

Post by Einarr »

I'm looking for some good reading/studying material on solitary and traditional crafting. Just finished Buckland's big blue book. I found a lot of useful information as well as much that I do not feel applies to the direction I feel drawn too. At this point I'm going in the direction of eclectic, solitary, with some traditional roots. Any suggested reading materials would be deeply appreciated.

Take a peek in our book reviews section, I'm 99% sure there are some recommended reading lists in there too.

And feel free to add your own reviews as well! Or comment on already-existing reviews.
