Happy Holi Day!!!

Post by Firebird »

Hindus and others celebrate the "festival of colors" at the full moon, before the vernal equinox. Holi is a celebration of the coming spring! Hey that's today!

Beautiful, I wonder if the different colors represent anything?

From what I understand the color they use today is artificial, and as far as I know the colors don't have a significant meaning except that the more color the better!
They used to use plant derived materials like turmeric and ground up flowers.
here is a little more by those folks at wikipedia

Sounds like my kind of celebration. :D
Though I can imagine some getting confused and trying to paint some poor girl named Holly. In that case, I better grab a towel. :P

The youngest granddaughter's b-day is March 16. I need to figure out how to incorporate that celebration. Although she has done pretty well on that front already. A post on Facebook a while back said, "My name is Cami, and I have a Sharpie problem.
It was the caption to her artwork on herself.
