Divination of the present

I'm hoping gain some insight on this..

I'm interested in learning the best techniques on how to discern the present through divination. I find that with oracles and tarot cards it's hard to ask and seek knowledge about another person. And that's what I would like to do.
I am told that I'm very empathic, which is a blessing and a curse. But I would like to eliminate the gap brought on by a lack of physicality when it comes to reading someone.

In order to understand the underpinnings of relations between myself and another person I turn to psychology. The revelations have been immense. In terms of empathy, I "know" the dynamics present, and psychoanalysis helps it to make sense.

I think I struggle with that because I try to use psychological concepts as well but I don't trust my instincts.
