What does Deer teach as an animal guide?

From what I've studied of shamanism & Native American lore, deer is about finding one's own path, power, wisdom, fertility, gentleness, grace and love.

As with any animal totem/guide they will teach you what they wish to teach you, what they feel you need to learn (not necessarily what you want to learn). Be careful requesting lessons from your spirit guide (especially from tricksters like coyote) because some lessons can be a very painful process. The more you develop a relationship with your guide/totem the easier it is to understand the medicine they are trying to teach. So meditating often or lucid dreaming where you meet them in the spirit world are good exercises to do.
