Ree's Book of Shaodws

Post by Embracing_Insomnia »

Hello there! I am a fairly new witch. I've been studying wicca for about two years now and I've decided to share a few of the things I've collected in my book of shadows. I'm not very fond of spells, sorry. I'm much more interested in things involving herbs. I might post a ritual or chant every now and then, but you won't likely find any spells on here xD;

Basic Herbal Salve

Post by Embracing_Insomnia »

1 pound herbs of choice
-any of the following can be used: leaves, roots, bark, or powdered or dried granulated herbs (which herbs should be used is dependent on what salve is to accomplish)
-freshly gathered herbs should be finely chopped
1 1/2 pounds cocoa fat
4 ounces beeswax (agent for keeping the salve firm and workable.)

All of the ingredients should be mixed together in a large (preferably bronze or copper) pot. Covering the ingredients, place the pot in an area of intense sunlight for a duration of three to four hours.
Afterwards, strain this mixture through a finely woven cloth.
Allow strained mixture to cool. When the salve is cool to the touch and firm, it is ready for application to the body.
