Forget the moon, have the wedding when you want, not when some rocky body floating in space reflects a certain percentage of it's star's light.

Well, some people belive in the moon phases :)

I would wed on waxing moon. This is the time of increasing power. You want to increase your relationship with a wedding. A fullmoon looks nice (if you've got an nighttime wedding) but it's the height of power and hopefully after the wedding your relationship won't decrease like the moon ;)

In some ancient pagan traditions the green wood wedding ceremony occurred under the new moon when the couple were able to simultaneously gaze into the still water of a well or pool or other body of water and see the reflection of the new crescent moon in the water.

The couple would also initially commit for one year and one day, after which time they would either: renew their commitment for another year and one day; renew for a longer period; or, go their separate ways.

Brightest blessings.

I got married this past summer. We got married on June 26 which was not only a full moon but also an eclipse.

How often does that happen. When I picked the day we couldn't do it on Lithe but the group voted to use our hand-fasting as the celebration for it.
