Re: What was your first spell?
I was in the 3rd or 4th grade and I didn't know what I was doing. It was just something that came naturally to me.
So we wrote a test from geography and most kids got bad grades. Including me - I got C instead of my usual A. The teacher was very angry at the whole class because it was a test made by a headmaster to evaluate her teaching skills. So she threatened to talk to our parents at the PTA that was planned for that day. She said all of us were in a big trouble and basically made a very terrifying speech.
I got afraid and prayed that my father can't get there. What I did was offer shoes of my Barbie as a sacrifice. I didn't throw them I just held them in my hand saying that they may disappear if my wish comes true.
And what happened? My father's car broke so he couldn't get to the meeting and the shoes had lost. I've never seen them again. They were pink boots and my barbie was barefoot since then
I know this sounds totally crazy and unbelievable but this was the first time in my life I saw that prayer and intention work.

Wow, Moonrain, very interesting story! I believe you. Spells are cast by our will all the time.
My first spell was a curse jar. I was a very sad person for a very long time, and I placed all of my ill will through meditation into the curse jar for two weeks. I smashed the curse jar in an industrial park, and soon I felt better. Not quite sure specifically when it came back to bite me, but I've suffered since then so I believe the universe balanced itself.

Re: What was your first spell?
The time was early '70s (I was 12-13yrs old)
I found a witchcraft book in an empty dresser my step-dad
brought home. I found a protection spell in the book but
it was so elaborate I only used part of it.
I prayed until I fell asleep...
Moon Goddess Diana...please get me out of here...
I don't want this to happen anymore, it hurts.
over and over 'til I fell asleep.
I ran away, again. He took me to juvenile hall,
a counselor gave me her card to call her if I needed
to talk to someone.
Diana gave me the strength to call that woman and
get myself out of the situation.
Afterthought: Sometimes spells don't work the way we
think they should. Sometimes the Gods and Goddesses
give us the info/strength/know-how to fix a problem
ourselves.

P.S. after that it was...
Money, money, come to me
come to me today.

My first spell was trying to summon some other-worldly spirit to defend me from bullies. Nothing happened

My first "spell" was a ... well it began life as a poem which came alive ... became an automatic poem that wrote itself and swiftly became a powerful emotional entreaty. It was raw, life-changing magic that set me on the path.
Planets aligned. I was pushed from behind. It initiated the circumstances that led to my Initiation.
Thank you for taking me back there

I believe my very first spell was to get into the Music academy. It wasn't really anything intentional, I just felt like lighting a white candle every day and tell my wish to the flame. I remember wanting it so badly, I actually was imagining what it would be to be a piano student and learning and everything.
My first intentional spell was one to find a job I liked. It worked, although not the way I expected it to. I miscalculated something and the spell kinda backfired. I was lucky to not suffer any serious consequences, probably because I really didnt' mean any harm, although I did cause some, luckily nothing too bad. It also taught me to look from many perspectives before I cast.

Re: What was your first spell?
Mine was very specific as I had been reading a Wicca book, and I was practicing and experimenting, and the book stated to be very specific in details with the example.
We were currently (I was 16) living with my grandparents and looking for an apartment.
I decided the spell should be about a particular apartment, place and I got detailed. Had to have 14 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a big kitchen and a basement.
I told my parents about it- told them I cast a spell for the perfect apartment as I deemed it, and I told them to keep their eyes out in the paper for it.
My dad laughed a bit, he said even if this 14 bedroom comes up in the paper how will you be sure it would be magic that did it? I told him not only will it be in the paper, but it will be exactly as I said including the basement.
Two days passed and my father brought out the paper and said, your apartment is in the paper, but there's a problem.
I asked what no basement? He said no it is 14 beds, 2 baths, a big kitchen and a basement, exactly as you said it would be. He shook his head and muttered "Unbelievable".
So I asked well what's the problem?
He looked at me shook his head and said I wouldn't get your hopes up on it. I asked why not? And he said oh for crying out loud it's a 14 bedroom, why do you think? It's expensive!!!
He said, next time you cast a spell with detail like that, try stating a price frame!
Yep. That was my first spell. It worked, but not entirely as I intended.

We all had the same first spell.
1) singing and candle light
2) make a wish
3) extinguish candle
4) share cake and milk

My first real spell attempt was to retreive my mobile phone which had been lost. My friend rang an hour or 2 later saying "is this your phone?" It was under one of the seats in his car.

I gave up but still feed the strays. I'm convinced there are cat paw billboards advertising "free eats this way--->" with maps included.
I moved on to Witch's Bottle, boundary protection spells. It cut down on the strays considerably. As long as I keep it simple and specific, I'm OK. It's when I permit vague wording or intentions that I get into trouble.
I was just reading through this and I’m so thankful I read this comment haha made my day
Re: What was your first spell?
I was about 14 when I had a paralyzing fixation on my buddy's mom. My crush was such that I tried a candleburning attraction spell...twice but to no avail. Rather than quitting I decided that maybe my intentions weren't exactly in accord with the highest spiritual ideals, so I tried a money spell and had a job within a week at a chicken farm.
Re: What was your first spell?
My first spell was in winter. I don't much like cold despite the region I live in. I wanted summer to come quicker so I decide to try a spell to "appease the sun" I don't know where I got the idea from but I was determined. I found a branch from a local tree that had fallen but still had orange and red leaves on it even though winter reason almost over and I used it as a wand while I danced on a sunny day, singing a poem I had wrote. I don't know why I did it, I was very young at the time. It just felt right. I honestly don't even remember if it worked, but I still remember loving the feeling of it despite my dancing being awkward and my singing off key.
