Good herbal incenses for a Crossing Over Ritual?

My cat is going to be put down shortly and I've prepared a Crossing Over Ritual for him for when he passes.

For the incense, what would you recommend for a Crossing Over Ritual?

Also, what kinds of flowers do you think would be most appropriate?
