Re: Black cats
I wound up with a black and white cat this go-round...
He came as I was seriously missing my dog I had to
put down...
But he's a Leo like me, and the stubbornness abounds !
I love lots tho

Re: Black cats
Thank you ! He's a brat, tho-and knows he's spoiled
...and the end of July he'll be 14yrs old and still likes
walking on a leash outside in the apt complex. He's
even made friends with some of the dogs around here.
If I would have known he was Maine Coon, I definitely
would not have gotten him fixed !
I went to a private house to choose a kitten since I
was terribly missing my "Miss Molli". A Kid was there
alone(teenager), I asked him about the kittens and
whose rambunctious and who was mellow. He pointed
to this black and white kitten on an end table and said
that one has the most personality; when I saw that
propeller on his mouth I was hooked !
My hubby went to Michigan with his Mom and Sis...
I picked up Charlie a couple days before they were
scheduled to get back. Sneaky...I didn't tell him
about Charlie, I just waited 'til he came out of my
room !

Re: Black cats
One of the maintenance crew at the cemetery where I worked found a black kitten on the grounds and brought it to the office. He handed the tiny fur ball to me saying he knew I had cats, and that he darned nearly ran over it with riding mower. Wee-ell, what was I to do but take her home?! Right? It was just before Halloween, so I named her Kismet. Get it? Black cat+cemetery+witch...it was kismet. She's 14 now. I also room with two younger tortoise hairs with "Tortitude" and a tabby cat. Blessings to all our cats...Hail Baast.

Re: Black cats
I have two other tenants in my apartment house who have/had black cats. My upstairs neighbor had an 8-year-old feisty black cat named Clyde, even though Clyde is usually a male name and the cat was a female. My downstairs neighbor also has a black cat, male, named Ditto. I can remember doing my homework and Clyde would jump on the table where I was working and just lay down on top of my papers, giving me the "Pet me right meow" look. Sadly, Clyde passed away a few years ago and I still miss her chatty voice. Ditto is still with us, but I don't get to see him as much as I can hear him meowing in his human's room. It is a joy when I do see Ditto, for he loves to be petted and cuddled. I don't mind that he is heavy, although he could stand to lose a bit. Black cats are the best, but I love all cats, especially my calico, Ice Cream.
