Burning Mabon Man SFV style

Post by Firebird »

We had such a fabulous Mabon ceremony last night we decorated our Wicker Man with all of our gratitude and thanks for the abundance we have reaped thus far and then we walked the balance beam.

Anyway I thought you folks might like to see the before and during.... there is no after unless you like a picture of a pile of ashes hahaha.
We had sparklers sticking out all over him...That's what the blue sticks are. It was really quite an exhilarating sight.
I should have taken a pic when he was all decorated with flowers and herbs, but alas that is on the other camera.

So I call this burning Mabon man SFV style because I live in the beautiful San Fernando Valley!
Wicker man
Wicker man
Flames of gratitude
Flames of gratitude
Many blessings for a smooth ride through the shadow self of Autunm and Winter!

Thanks,
One of the guys recorded it, maybe I can get that on here.
I find it interesting the flames very much mimicked the shape of the man, rather than just a tall inferno.
Fun with fire!

Isn't that the truth? At the risk of sounding like a pyromaniac-I have to say I could (and do) watch fire for hours. It's so soothing and hypnotic. Have you ever used flames to scry?

Oh yes, absolutely.
In fact some did skry on our burning man. I have some very interesting still shots on my camera that I am going to look at for hidden messages. I like to gaze at fire to get into a head space for all kinds of divinatory work. Trying to find messages in the flikering flames sometime moves too quickly for me, but like you said, it gets you very relaxed. Then I'll pick up the crystal ball or whip out the tarot. Fire is so primal and mysterious. The other 3 elements are so ever present, and even though sun is in the sky half the day, when we bring it into the night in the form of bon fire or candle...where it does not usually reside except in the reflection of the moon,
it's pure magic!

Thanks blue jay! We had fun.
Sometimes I think ...what's something different we can do for Mabon?, but the Wicker Man is always such a hit.

Haha, how fun. Thanks for sharing, firebirdflys. Next best thing to being there is pics. You have a fun coven. Witchcraft doesn't have to be all stodgy and serious and creepy, haha.
