Help me choose a tumblestone!
I'm not very good with titles.. Sorry!
I've not been around on the forum for a while because life was calm (and the internet was faulty), but now I'm back because my head is in all the wrong places and this forum seems to help out!
Ive been looking at Gemstones/crystals for months now but have put off buying any. There's so many to choose from and I honestly don't know which one I should buy. Since I don't have any gemstones or crystals, I thought a Tumblestone or two would be the best place to start. Give your opinion if you think that's wrong and I should maybe go for something else.
I know each stone and gem has certain properties, but i am drawn to the intensely coloured tumble stones like blue howlite or obsidian. I'm also drawn to quartz and rose quartz because they too are pretty, but I know they are good energy stones.
There are so many different types of gemstones and crystals out there, but rather buying with my eye, I'd rather get people's personal opinions on this. Plus I saw 'Dragonstone'.. The name drew me in, but after looking on google it's a decoration stone used in fishtanks? It looks pretty as a tumblestone though, right? Im confused D:
Do you have a favourite stone or gem because you bought it for a certain reason such as the healing properties? Or were you drawn into the energies of it?
I remember reading on here how one lady was in a pagan store, and was drawn towards certain stones because of their energies. However, I don't have anything like that anywhere near me I'll have to buy offline, but oh well.

Moss agate popped into my head after I read your post. Then I had to research it. It's a good stone for balance. I also like amethyst. And there's a green one that I can't recall the name of. I'll post the name when it comes to me.

Me personally I love hematite, jasper, amethyst, rose quartz, sodalite. Just to name a few that I use.
Re: Help me choose a tumblestone!
Do you have the option of going to a physical store and holding the stones before you purchase any? That would be my first recommendation. You can get a feel for which ones seem to work the best with you that way.

Black Obsidian is an AMAZING grounding ( if you're floating in your head too much hehe ) and Protection stone. If possible go to a metaphysical/crystal/new age shop to purchase your piece. I say this because, when choosing your stone you should select one that "feels" right to you. The stone should resonate well in your hand. You will know when you found the right stone. Because the stone will have "picked" you!!!
Best of luck and wishes!

Unfortunately as I mentioned, there are no stores anywhere near me. I'd have to travel to london or further and that's way too pricey for meVesca wrote:Do you have the option of going to a physical store and holding the stones before you purchase any? If I had one nearby I'd love in it by now haha I will probably pick myself up some obsidian thank you!dualhands wrote:Black Obsidian is an AMAZING grounding ( if you're floating in your head too much hehe ) and Protection stone. Re: Help me choose a tumblestone!
I've found a few different stones with "dragon/stone"
in the description/name...
Go check it out in esty.com, type in dragon stone...
you'll probably get at least 3 if not more !
That's where I got that pic...

Hmm. So dragon stone isn't a legitimate healing stone?MsMollimizz wrote:

Real dragonstone is a sedimentary rock. One variety is epidote. If you find some that's from Utah, it's the real deal.
