Something I wrote a few years ago. I'm still playing with it. I want to write some music and make it a song but I've been lazy. There are commas and semi colons in weird places but I use them to remember the flow of the lyrics. Just ignore them I suppose.
goodnight to every sunrise and goodnight to every sunset
goodnight to every birthday present that i never did get
goodnight to working weekends and goodnight to working period
i never meant to take my life so goddamn f*cking serious
goodnight to sitting in the house and drinking by myself
goodnight to blaming all my problems on somebody else
and goodnight to all the friends that i haven't seen in years
i still think about you sometimes if there's anyone who cares
goodnight to every bill i pay, goodnight to every drug i take
goodnight to every alley cat and goodnight to every alleyway
dulling sadness, living dead, my problems are all in my head
moving forward, i feel fine, it's easier to live that lie
a loving mother, an honest father; take two with a glass of water
meeting where the lines divide, take my pills as i'm prescribed
the blue one's for a worried mind, the green one's make us think alike
the red one's for a heart that aches, i hope my problems go away
Depression and schizophrenia
Re: Depression and schizophrenia

You just need to put an asterisk in your swear words (at least that one, and a couple others) to keep it from censoring you. (I put one in it for you.) I really like that poem. I wonder if you'd like me to share it with more people on the FB page?

Re: Depression and schizophrenia
Reminds me of "Do Not Go Gently into that Goodnight" by Thomas Dylan. Very emotional. I also suffer from mental illness SchizoAffective disorder. Don't give up. Keep on writing poetry or sharing with others will help. It's always darkest before the dawn and eventually peace comes around again.
