Dark Scrying Mirrors

I made a dark scrying mirror years ago and have not had much success with it. It is flat and I have never found the right lighting. Do you think it would be wise to use a concave mirror instead? Does anyone have any scrying tips or stories to share? I've had more success with a regular mirror in dim light.
