Re: Imbolc is Coming!
Not sure exactly what I will be doing for Imbolc. A small ritual and lighting candles and incense is what I am planning.

I actually do Groundhog Day. At one time it was a pagan tradition and it's not coincidence it occurs on Imbolc. February 2 is half way between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. It's name is symbolic of the ewe's getting pregnant and the animals of the forest start preparing for a spring. Many in ancient times watched the wild animals for indications of early good weather. In Germany the badger, a sacred animal, was observed to see if he came out and worked or stayed in. If he stayed in, the cold was not over. This could mean later planting and was very important. Once in the the US the groundhog replaced the badger. So I will get my seeds into the planters and hopefully get seedlings for Spring. We have been doing some house work and cleaning out of stuff too. A pork roast for dinner.
