This is a really stupid question, but how are you meant to feel when you meditate? I've tried a few times but it's never really worked. I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong or if I'm doing it right but I'm expecting something different.
a little help?

Good question Stef,
Some meditations actually can make you feel like you have left the earth realm and you feel free and floaty. Others make you feel heavy and laden with matter. It depends on so many variables, but the key is the visualizations--that is what will trigger an emotional response. If you see an image and feel nothing then perhaps the image has not firmly impressed into your mental landscape. The feeling I get most often from meditation is relaxation. Like Télépopmusic sing: "Just Breathe". . .
How does breathing make you feel?

meditation can have various effects, it all depends on "state of mind"
It can on the first attempt make you feel sick, but keep trying and it can lead to you to be able to "free your mind"
for me it releases the pressure of everyday life.

Am I awake or am I still dreaming?
