The Soldiers War

Up soldiers, up and to arms;
The call to battle is sounded,
May you never find yourself surrounded,
In this awful hell we call war,
There is forgiveness nevermore,
When the battle rages all around,
Our comrades in arms will never lay down,
Brothers and sisters of combat,

War is waged, battle is fought,

To the soldiers, I deployed with, fought next to, and who fell in battle. The 82nd Airborne, 101st Air Assault, French Mountain and Air Assault, and the New Zealand Provincial Reconstruction Team. You will be remembered. Your courage and bravery is an example to us all. Your sacrifice will not be forgot, and your honor never questioned. You were the best of us, exemplars of the Army Values. Friends, collegues, and loved ones. May you be at peace. May those who are left behind find solace in the sacrifice of those they loved, for they gave all to protect what we hold dear. Those we love.
