I'm a solitary practice, Canadian, old fart.
Been winging it for the better part of my life and have recently been refining and better understanding what it is I've been playing by ear this whole time.

In my youth I experienced some highly prolific magicks among people I knew and frankly, it scared me. It cascaded into holding back because I have always innately felt that to do no harm is paramount.
I'm glad to be here. Hope to connect with some like minded folk.

Oh crap. I've been looking for a place that caters to the more mature side of things for a while. Where I live there's not really a lot of people who have expanded thinking and online I've found a lot of beginner sites with a steady influx of broad questions and pictures of pets. Trolls are a challenge sometimes for sure. The internet is almost like the ether, you just never know who or what is skulking around

I agree. Discernment. The more specific one is the more focused intent can be. And to be specific, clarity is paramount.
This is why I held off for so long to get serious about it. I wanted to be certain I was only putting unconditional love into the ether. The last thing I want is to have a cascading effect of WHOOPS Hope your night is full of cheer

I'm sure you will like it here. Lot of good information and nice people to chat with around this corner. And about trolls, there was a spammer some time ago who got kicked out very quickly. First and only time I've seen that happen, but there's no way of keeping them all out, morons are morons and every forum gets its share. Thankfully it seems our moderators are very awake and don't hesitate to do their job.

This is one of the nicest forums I've even been onto.

You know what sold me on registering was the section for advanced witchcraft, the high activity level and a part of the terms of service about how the forums are not for certain topics, both because of the ages thing and the keywords for google searches. I found that to align very well with my moral compass

It's good to know that we're doing something right. We do get the occasional member who tries to get around the rules. I prefer to participate, rather than police, and I think the other mods, support and admin feel the same.

I got the impression that the admin team here has a great human aspect to deciding how to moderate. I have tried a few places and I've found that context can often evade the voice of reason.
From reading the topics and comments here, I feel like this might be a niche where old souls gather to bore the daylights out of the ones who seek romanticized "Looks good witchcraft".
