Gnomes are earth spirit. You could find some really nice ones and put one in each corner. Ask them to help you keep the garden. Most people like gnomes. A bird bath to get bird in will help you with pests too.

The Otherworld has werewolves, vampires, witches, sorcerers, ghosts, necromancers, clairvoyants, angels. It's all encompassing.

Man you get some details on your past lives. Not knowing much about voodoo, I would imagine that the skull was to use the persons power they had in life and maybe even control them in some way. I could see the dark skull being like a scrying bowl?
