Of course, no disrepect intended for the individuals. Just the religions as a whole. That's pretty much the way I feel about it... to an extent. I understand that it's sometime hard for a person to extricate themselves from the religion of their raising. And I understand that, to do so, sometimes o...

Lol! Fairy aliens, huh? Interesting. Well, consider this... A lot of faerie lore has them living underground. Now, "going underground" could be the primitive interpretation of multi-dimensional movement, making them "ultra-terrestrial" rather than "extra-terrestrial". ...

You know, I never really 'got' fairies. Ditto. :) I'd love to hear more of people's experiences. In John Michael Greer's book, Monsters: A Field Investigator's Guide , he has a chapter on faeries. According to his research, they're spiritual beings that can take on many different forms... but in th...

I haven't heard of this practice, but more power to those who feel comfortable taking them in if there are such things... dolls - like clowns - are just creepy. :D

Disclaimer: I am not a parent. :) I think it's fine. Parents have been raising their children in their own religion for centuries. If, when they get old enough to choose a religion of their own (or no religion at all) then I think parents should support their choice... but before that, I see no harm...

Personally, I am endlessly appalled at all the Abrahamic religions and frankly find these religions to be true aspects of evil on our Earth. I couldn't agree more. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all cut from the same Old Testament cloth. The Old Testament is racist, misogynistic, and it glori...

(Actually, Gerald Gardener did treat men as superior to women in some circumstances, I've heard. Of course, that was written in the late 40's, before the Feminist movement really gained popularity.) It's a whole other topic, but I'm not a huge fan of Gardner. His High Priestess, Doreen Valiente, on...

I had a book of poetry and lyrics that I wanted to publish for posterity and I had no intention of tweaking the content to suit a publisher... so I used CreateSpace . It's an Amazon.com affiliate and they don't charge you anything except the wholesale cost for proof copies. I was really happy with t...

In Celtic mythology, they were associated with the Morrighan; since one of her roles was to claim the dead from battlefields - in the form of a raven - I suppose Celtic warriors were none too happy when one flew close to them. :D Among the Norse, ravens are associated with Odin; he had two ravens, H...

While we're on the subject, a little more on "invoking" and "evoking"... According to John Michael Greer's Circles of Power , invoking "calls a specific energy into manifestation within the self " (my italics) whereas evoking "means to call a specific energy into a...

but do, in life, religion and everything you ever do-- question things. Amen. :) I went to religious school growing up... once, in 11th grade, the vice principal called a kid down for asking "why". He told us to never ask "why"... that to do so was rebellious in the eyes of god....

Mothman was for real though, my father in law saw him back in the 60s! Wow... that's seriously cool! Be careful though... my wife may start hounding you for his autograph! There were so many seemingly credible eye-witness accounts... Re: tattoos!

Thoughts on tattoos? Thoughts on being a tattoo artist? I'm a fan of tattoos, and therefore certain tattoo artists as well. I have four at the moment... a tribal armband, a Yin-Yang symbol made of two dragons, a regular Yin-Yang symbol surrounded by Celtic knot-work, and a large pentacle in the mid...
