Re: Ocean calling
You may be attracted to both goddesses, but one may be stronger than the other. If you want to know, you can meditate on the matter and you can listen to which one is louder in your soul. Another way to think of it is that Oshun is the Maiden aspect of the Goddess and the Mother is Yemaya. Much like...

Re: Weird question: Is it wrong to be in love with a god?
Absolutely not! I've always adored the Charge of the Goddess' line "all acts of love and pleasure art My rituals". If your heart is telling you that this deity is your true love, then I wish you all the happiness in the world.

Re: Closing After a Handfasting Ceremony
Closing the circle for me has always been rather long and very ritualistic, so this something as quick and simple like this is a good idea for large parties that are pressed for time. Thank you!

Re: God/Goddess of chaos?
I was looking it up the other day and there is some obscure personification of primordial chaos in Greek called "Khaos" and Aether is also among that. This is true. Chaos is considered to be a deity in their own right (whether male or female has been debated) and is considered to be the p...

Re: Different ideas about Satan?
The following is my intellectual analysis and does not convey any opinions: The idea of an ultimate evil has been around since the beginning of Zoroastrianism, arguably the world's oldest monotheistic religion, and supposedly the precursor to Judaism. Lilith, as far as I've learned, is a completely ...

Closing After a Handfasting Ceremony
So, I've found numerous ceremonies for Handfastings, but they don't really tell what to do with the circle after the couple is actually married (or betrothed). They say that it's up to the Priest/ess performing the ritual, but I was curious about whether it's really necessary to close the circle for...

Re: I need an alternative Esbat ritual idea.
I have an alternative for such an event. This doesn't need to be in a Circle, and could be inside or outside. Feel free to modify however you'd like! Items Needed: Chair or blanket to sit on, plate, sharp knife, cake and ale, apple, enjoyable Pagan reading material 1. Sit in your chair or on your bl...

Re: Beyond Pagan 101?
Well, for me, being a Priestess means being able to connect with the Goddess and be able to teach others. Of course, I'd also want to provide some counseling, rites if anyone wants them (I've already been ordained as a minister) and hold ceremonies for the Sabbats and Esbats. Something along the lin...

Beyond Pagan 101?
As you can see from my name, I'm an aspiring Priestess to the Goddess. I someday plan to open up my own Temple where anyone can worship or honor how they want (provided they mind the Rede, of course). My problem, though, is how to actually learn more so that I can be an actual Priestess. I've been o...

Re: Samhain: Information and Ideas
This year, I made a really nice beef stew, then left it on the patio along with a burning black votive candle in a lantern, an apple and burning sage for the ghosts that roam after sunset. Along with the standard dressing up and giving out candy to kids. I like the idea of a Dumb Supper. I don't hav...

Re: Witches in pop culture- thoughts?
If the show or movie doesn't make a reference to the actual religion, I can just ignore it for the most part. But when they try to depict the Wicca when they haven't done enough homework, however, I get annoyed. I have a blog where I actually touched on this precise subject, so if you'd like to read...

Re: It's Great To Be Here!
Thank you all. I mostly just need some help with the flow of the rituals so that it doesn't seem awkward. I'll post what I have soon so feel free to check it out when I do.

It's Great To Be Here!
Hello! My name is Star_Priestess. Nice to meet everyone. Here are a few things that you should know about me: 1. My heritage comes from all over Europe with trace amounts of Native American on my mother’s side, but over half of it comes from the British Isles. Celtic pride! 2. I live in California, ...
