Re: Wood matches for lighting candles
Funny, I've read it's better to use a lighter because of the sulphur in matches. ^.^

Re: Recommend Wiccan books
Hi Firefly!
If you like hedgewitchery, I recommend Rae Beth's "Hedge Witch: Guide to Solitary Witchcraft".
You might like Ann Moura's Green Witch series - she's a bit ritual-heavy, but integrates herbs and herb lore into pretty much every part of the practice.

Re: Persephone
'Patron' is a homonym - it doesn't just mean 'father'. So yes, it is appropriate to refer to a female deity as a Patron Goddess. Grammar aside, I find the best way to find out how to honour the Gods is to read their myths. Persephone obviously has the whole kidnapped-by-Hades thing (so avoid offerin...

Re: Please help! I need a cleansing ritual...
Have you tried: Smudging the amulet with a purifying incense (such as sage or lavender) Running the amulet under cool water (if this won't ruin it, of course!) Burying it in salt or the earth for a while until it feels clean again Crystal cleansing - either place it on a piece of amethyst, or clear ...

Depends where you are, and the local laws surrounding fraud etc. Are you in the US, UK or somewhere else?

Re: Casting a circle, sans candles, salt etc. etc.?
Yup, visualisation's your best tool in situations like this. The Circle itself can be visualised, and you can use substitutes in ritual. Crystals for earth, a feather for air, an unlit candle, LED candle or red stone for fire, and... well, water doesn't usually cause any problems. If it does, use a ...

Re: Corresponding days for magick - to Caste or not to Caste
Personally, I would do the spell on a Saturday, for Saturn's power and for new beginnings. But to be honest, I'd be more fussed about doing the spell during the waning moon- if you do a little research into the planets that rule the days of the week and what they rule, then it's easy enough to re-wo...

Sorry sweety, for this one it's either gonna be affecting their free will so they don't have it on as loud/late, or finding something out of a fairytale to make your walls soundproof!

Whichever one you feel most connected to. It may or may not be the same element as your star sign.

Re: A spell to resolve a love triangle
Oooor you could just go with the guy who isn't manipulating you? I'm not sure why you need a spell for this?
If you're really confused, divination such as the tarot would be a better thing to use in this situation than a spell.

Re: Dream about my Lover, confused!
I'd go for a very literal interpretation here. That's what you dream/wish he'd say to you.
If he's rejected you already, best thing to do is try your hardest to move on. Moping over him - and dreams like that! - aren't going to make it easier to accept that he isn't interested.

Re: Casting A Circle With A Rope
I've never heard that. Pretty much every source that says to mark the Circle with a rope uses a white one.
Blue is the colour most Circles are visualised in, so I'd say your blue rope will be fine

Re: I'm not exactly sure what spell I'm looking for.
Yellow is the colour of communication, yes. The above spell appears to be working more on the 'love' side rather than the neutral desire just to communicate.

Re: Cinna's Book of Shadows
Uck. Should've guessed, it was either gonna be her or Ravenwolf xD Cinna, I would advise avoiding anything written by Conway! If you want a realistic version of the history of witchcraft try Ronald Hutton's "Triumph of the Moon". Hutton is a credited, respected historian. Edit to add: Or h...
