Re: Goddess Bast

From what I know of the Goddess Bast or Bastet, In earlier times she was associated with warfare and the lion and she was the patron of Lower Egypt. But she emerged symbolized as a domestic cat, when Sekhmet embodied war and the lion. Bast was then associated with night rather than day. Interestingl...

Thanks for the links Ravencry. What's the symbol after Z in the Theban Alphabet--the one with no letter next to it; is it "now I said my ABCs, Next time wont you..."?

Yum! Sounds like a good recipe for Chinese New Year. I think they are symbolic for happiness and well being according to this random article of unknown validity: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:JfYG4vQtLe8J:ezinearticles.com/%3F8-Chinese-New-Year-Food-Symbols-for-Happiness,-Pros...

Re: Shadow Work

Humanity was never monogamous, but the've almost always pretended, cause otherwise the society would break down. This has always been troublesome for the individuum, but strengthened the society in general. I have been thinking about this. I looked up Social Manogamy, and wondered "why would p...

Re: Shadow Work

If you would like to stop smoking, all your friends would jump in to help and lend you an ear, but if you want to tell them "I want to explore my sexuality" your friends probably stop calling. LOL. That is a good question about the chickens--maybe it does have to do with fear--although th...

Re: I need spiritual elevation!

When the thoughts come acknowledge them
and them let them go.
This is a good thing to do. If you fight the thoughts they usually get louder. Eventually, they will come less because you are letting them go, and they aren't getting a rise out of you.

Re: Dandelion: Nature's wonder herb

I love dandelions. Although flowers are designed for sexual reproduction, the dandelion reproduces asexually. In a way, the dandelion can give birth while remaining virginal--and it retains its sexual part--flower--for reasons other than survival. I just think that its intriguing.

Re: Shadow Work

Thanks. Those are good points. Although I was leading, I do have to know what I am dancing with. I think its odd that it likes to mirror me, is that typical of a shadow--just some way to communicate that it is part of myself? It takes time to find out what is in the shadow. I think that I have a lot...

Re: On attraction, sensuality, and magical solutions.

I have to agree with Traum's post. My opinion: I think that guys who have complete control over tone of voice--etc. can be uncomfortable to be around, because women get the feeling they have some strategy that they are playing out--like trying to get sex.--Gee, I wonder why they would get that idea ...

Re: Shadow Work

I had a really weird dream recently. I was at some restaurant, and this ape came in--it looked like an orangutan. It randomly attacked another ape which was in the restaurant. (it was some tropical restaurant at a beach--outside.) Then it attacked this guy. It was totally on him--biting him. All the...

Re: Water soluble stones?

I've never heard of water soluble stones--unless you consider salt and sugar stones. I think soapstone is acid resistant. Granite may be resistant to the type of acid rain, although I think it is sensitive to one type of common acid used in rust removal. Most stones that will be sensitive to acid ar...

Re: I need spiritual elevation!

Greek, I respect your decision not to meditate, but it its not because you cant. Meditation is hard. It takes practice. You are trying to quiet your mind, so if you never have--of course your mind will be extremely loud at first. Meditation is like any skill--even hiking. You start out weak but if y...

Re: Can you be an eclectic pantheism pagan?

To my knowledge, pantheism is the specific belief that everything is God and that God is not separate from everything else. The idea that God is in everything, but that there is a separate God that created everything is not pantheistic. I am not an expert on pantheism, but I consider myself to have ...
