According to Wikipedia, Gum Arabic is from the Acacia tree. I have never used it. The sap I used was from a type of pine tree. My wand is our native willow. But I never use it!
BTW--If you decide to try the tree sap, I think you should test it on something else, because you have to scrape it off if you decide you don't want it on your wand.
