I'm not sure about stimulents, but for taste Rooibosh (I think there are about 5 different spellings of that) tea with milk in tastes very much like sweet, slightly spicy normal tea. Actually, I know that lemons are good for giving you a lift. You can either burn the essential oil or rub a bit of fr...

Sometimes doing nothing is the most harmful thing you can do. In this case, if you subscribed to the wicca reade, to me it would seem that the best thing to do would be to stop him harming any other women. You never know, it may even be good for him, if he gets the help he obviously needs and gets h...

Research help: transient-ness and spirituality

Hey guys! I've not had a chance to be on the boards much recently, been very busy with this real life thing. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with some reserach I'm doing, I'm trying to find out about traditions/cultures etc that spiritually revere and/or use the idea of tr...

I'm a fan of "music for 18 musicians" by Steve Reich. It's a minimalist piece and consists of pulses and repetition. it's extreamly relaxing. It's also really incredable music.

On a similar topic, does anyone know anywhere that tells you the dates of the solstaces/equinoxs/moon phases? A website would be good, though somewhere I can get a diary or something would be better. Also are these dates the same in different countries? My logic would say not, though my logic is oft...

I've never heard of needing different ink to write spells... I'd have thought that, as it's the information that's important, it wouldn't matter too much what you wrote it with. Though I have been told that you can charge ink by "gobbing" (spitting) in it a little bit. Not tried that though.

I got this book recently and it's been really good for me to read it. Though I don't know if I'll be refering to myself as a green witch anytime soon (it sounds rather too grand to me), alot of the stuff in it rang true and I can see the ideas in it becoming a base for my spiritual workings. It also...

My faivorite thing to have when I have a cold is a cup of bullion (or you could use cup soup) with a couple of cloves of garlic chopped up inside it. Garlic really is a great thing for your health. Also echinacia can reduce the length of a cold and increase immunity. Though you shouldn't take it lon...

To me, the elements are a handy way to catagorise natural energy. We can call upon seperate elements to help us with specific goals, and different people have different amounts of each element in them. I also believe that it's the same for all deities that have been worshiped, as they are all person...

I just had a bit of a eureka moment about my shadow totem... I knew it was a scorpian, but I couldn't work out what it was telling me. I've just been looking it up on a few websites, and they all seem to say that the scorpian is about self defence and stuff. As one site put it: "Scorpions repre...

the reason it is so controversial is because sacred texts of the dominant religions of the world( Bible, Qur'an etc.) and "God" say that gayness(for lack of a better word) is immoral and is against nature. and people such as Bush of america and Howard(for we aussies) rely alot on the vote...

The problem with the whole playing hard to get thingis that it's assuming that the guy has enough confidence in his own charms and abilities to pull to keep at it. Personally, if someone was like that with me my reaction would be "ok, they're not interested then, seems like nothing's going to h...

I think the problem with the term "religion" is it is generally preceded by a silent "organised". Religion is often viewed as something that comes with hierachy and dogma, and some kind of acient writings that are seen as the only way to spiritual fufilment. From this point of vi...
