Hello, I’ve had a serious cheating problem that I absolutely need to stop, and I’ve recently cast a spell on myself to clear myself of this habit
What I did was I wrote on a paper “I will never cheat again - On Aphrodite” and burned it in a flame
Now, I have done many spell concerning fire, and not a single one has gone as smoothly as that spell. Though I casted it today, and I am still waiting for the candle to die out, I believe it is the most correct spell I’ve cast.
The only think of concern was that after I lit the candle I used to burn the note, the lighter (a long one, not one of those short ones) was very hot at the end and burned a small part of my leg from the heat. Part of me is saying that it is a mark to keep me from breaking my promise in this spell, but a part of me is still concerned that may have a different, negative meaning.
I would love some advice from a more experienced witch on whether this is a good sign or not, as I’ve only been studying witchcraft and casting spells for a year. Thank you.

Hi. I think you nailed it. You know a lighter stays hot. Unconsciously you put it there knowing it is hot. You have even said you think it's a reminder to yourself. It's subconscious human behavior. Our magic often works through our subconscious mind. You will succeed.

I fully agree. We can make ourselves a part of the spell. You want to help yourself attain your goal. That little burn will help you remember what you wish to accomplish.
