More goddess than god?

Post by *~InTheBroomCloset~* »

Why are there more statues necklaces rosaries depicting Mother Nature on the goddess but very few depicting the heavenly father or God? This is just a preference thing that in the person who made the Statue or necklace prefers to worship the goddess rather than the god? is there some significance to the god being less involved? it was my understanding that both deserved respect so kind of curious why it seems that the goddess is worship more than the god.

In pagan thinking, the god-form does not equate with Abrahamic "heavenly father", and Abrahamic faiths forbid making statues of their god. There are many statues of the Green Man, Horned God Cernunos or Pan, and individual pantheon god-forms, like Norse, Egyptian, Greek/Roman, S.American & African figures.

And as a knee jerk reaction to mainstream, male-dominated religious paths to the exclusion of the goddess, Gardnerian Wiccans embraced the missing female influence back in the 1950s. Other traditional forms of witchcraft are more of a magical practice then a religion, so didn't need statues. They use a Stang (forked staff) to represent the horned god-form and lunar crescent. You can see pics of the Stang in midevil woodcut block prints.

Mala beads or prayer beads are used by various cultures all around the world & only resemble a Catholic rosary in that prayers are recited for each bead. Generally with malas, the repetition of the same simple prayer (or holy Text phrase) for each bead, over and over, induces a light meditative trance. With a Rosary, a theme of related reflections on Jesus or Mary is grouped, and the same prayer (a Biblical phrase) is repeated to induce meditation on the theme. It seems when it is in public, everyone rattles it off like machine gun fire to get it over with, but in private it's a different story.

A couple of more interesting things:

(I posted in this first thread)

Then, from Wiki:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herne_the_Hunter

A lot of information on the Horned God can not be documented, yet exists in lore.

One last thing on this.

There are what are called oathbound secrets.

Yet, as a initiate who never took an oath, I can tell you
in the Old Religion, the Lord And Lady were Pan and
Greensleeves. (long before the Greek ideal of him)

For accessing the energies of the earth god and goddess
of nature, those work wonderfully as meditations.

For working with the Gates of Life and Death: Cernunnos.

For the energy of the Wild, and Wylde Hunt: Herne.

There are some would think Herne and Cernunnos to be one in the same.
And the greensleeves thing got me to wondering what it was about Anne Boleyn that made her Greensleeves?

Yeah , I have heard the Herne - Cernunnos comparison many times
over the years...and in the code I work with and teach you have
probably seen me mention the number 994 as one set of symbols
value.

Just so happens : "Herne Same As Cernunnos" = 994

However , it is for us connecting to certain aspects of the deity to
use certain names which trigger certain responses in the psyche.

As for Anne :

First interesting thing :

Died: 19 May 1536, at Tower Green (executed)

Yet :

https://earlymusicmuse.com/greensleeves1of3mythology/

Now , if we take two of our goddess / mother columns in Runic :
603 x 2 , and add the symbols that can go around them : 16 x 7 ,
we attain the value of 1318.

Then adding the word : "Green" in our old language code :
Green = 333 ; We now go to Obri / Hebrew ; 333 = Royal Paramour ,
To Be Sexually Excited , To Lie Down With ( see link above )

And :

Wearing My Gown Of Green = 1318

Yet :

Lady Greensleeves + Lust And Desire = 1319

Which then we bring in the idea of the goddess , or Lady Greensleeves ,
and fecundity with the Lord Pan , as well the royal paramour idea , and
if one looks into Henry's tendencies , why some might have linked the song
to Henry and Anne.

I hope that at least gives you some food for thought , FirebirdFlys !

I always found this funny, I mean technically Christianity is the exception because they have depicted god, and not just Jesus. The greatest thing though is pre-Abrahamic religion did depict God, quite a lot. (Canaanite El)

With Indo-European religion, the sky father at the head of the pantheon is a trope and this is where the Abrahamic god is derived from.
I am the Earth, The Sun and the Stars
And I am the also the Moon
I am all animal and birds,
And I am the outcast as well, and the thief
I am the low person of dreadful deeds,
And the great person of excellent deeds
I am Female. I am Male and I am Neuter.
