Killing mosquitos and flys.

Post by MrNitpicky »

What are your thoughts about killing Mosquitos and flys? Do you believe
that it's wrong to kill those insects or do you believe it does not matter?

I myself just gotten to a point that if i'm trying to sleep and a mosquito
keeps buzzing in my ear then I must forgive it rather than being unforgiving
towards the mosquito because I believe it's not good for my heart chakra
to be unforgiving.

Some of my past divination readings tell me I need to be forgiving.

I don't kill them. I wave my hand over my ear if it buzzes to scare it off and stop hurting me. if u scare it off over and over again it givees up and goes to some other prey. lol but that's just me. this has nothing to do with ethics to me.

In my personal opinion, it's not that their lives don't matter, it's that mine matters as well. I respect the sanctity of life, but part of the truth of being a part of life is that sometimes we have to act our part in the ecosystem. The mosquito plays its part by trying to suck my blood, and it's my role to try to prevent it from doing so (sometimes by smacking it), in the same way that you can't fault a lion for hunting a gazelle, nor the gazelle for fleeing from the lion. It's the dance of life and death, and it's not really even possible to avoid it.

In Florida, there is apparently some kind of overpopulation of bugs. I kill them b/c its how I learned to deal w them.

I have a deal with the little vectors...I say if you violate me...your done for.
As for flies and other buggies in the house, I tell them regularly if they cross my threshold then all bets on their life is off,... they have the whole great outdoors to play in, and when I am in their land I let them do their thing.

I do too. Here in SC, they're pretty bad as well. I swear, the ones around here are big enough to pick you up and carry you off. :surprisedwitch:

Colrado tends to have a high incidence of West Nile virus. I prefer to avoid that if possible, so mosquitos are on the condemned list. The cats take care of the flies in the house.

I grew up with the teaching and idea that I should never harm another being intentionally and think long and hard if it must be done. My heart stops when I watch some kid try and stomp on ants for fun. People think I am weird, but I just can't see it any other way.

this is definetely not weird. some kill them and some don't. stomp on ants FOR FUN? self preservation is understandible; but not fun. some grab a gun and hunt animals for fun. I used to live in some country where mosquitoes bothered my canary. Only then I was killing them coz I rly love my canary.

miserable virus...I got sick with it in 2005, with the worst headache IN the WORLD, a fever of around 104, a funky prickly rash all over my torso, and my memory...what memory? I was driving for the flower shop at the time, and would be all the way across town before I realized I was going in the wrong direction,
ok ...but now I have immunity
