Thank you. I need to get a couple of new journal/ calendars. One for my work schedule, and one for our "girls healings."

Well, Monday I saw my pain specialist. I'm down to Tylenol twice a day and ibuprofen twice a day for the pain issues. That earned me a high five. I've also been going to the gym three times a week. I got discouraged at work this week, because I got fired from a case I've had for almost two years. Then I told myself to look at what was actually happening. The patient's sister is his guardian, and a control freak. Advocating for proper care for him gets nurses booted.

Beyond that, I confronted my husband about his need to spend $300 a month on beer and cigarettes. He got mad. I stayed calm, and asked for suggestions on where I should cut spending to accommodate that. So overall I feel stronger. Now if my shoulder would quit hurting so much today, I'd actually be happy.

I am glad to hear your pain management has been going well.

I wish you well in dealing with your husband's budget. Addiction is a difficult issue in a relationship. Cigarettes are brutally addictive. So many of my smoker friends who have attempted to quit (or even cut way back) have failed. And many heavy beer drinkers are functional alcoholics. I have no idea about your husband, but just speaking from experiences with people I have known. Good luck with this.

And I hope your pain management continues to improve.

Has your husband considered switching to vapor or electronic cigarettes? The first set you buy can be pricey, but saves money, and health, in the long run.
