I agree to a certain extent with the comment re religious background but I just gotta say >> Purewitch; saying this with absolute love... I sure hope that you know what you are doing by claiming Spirit as your elemental path ~ that's pretty heady stuff and should not be attempted by the novice (not saying that you are a novice, just sayin') without appropriate mentoring / education / guidance.

Hm, IMHO, i believe Spirit is a GREAT main element. However, because you are a novice, i would gather your other elemental bodies together.
(There are other posts somewhere along the lines where we talk about elemental bodies and how you should build them all up. Fire, Earth, Water, and Air are all good grounding elements and should be learned before delving into Spirit. It is a very strong and vast element and i have yet to meet someone who has learned to master it.)

Spirit in considered an element in the area where I live. I'd never heard of it before. Reminds me of umami. smileydance

Spirit is an important part of the circle of elements. Without spirit, witches or wizards would not have their magical ability. All of the elements are equilly important and serve a meaningful purpose. There are lots of elements of which magic and all life consists of. Her are the elements: fire, water, air, earth, life, metal, spirit. All of these elements form what I like to call the circle of elements or the seven ingredients of life. In all games or shows there is always an element of supernatural nature, this is the right one.
Witches are their own alliance, their own life. They are their own breed and they are their own species. We are different from the modern man and are more in tune with the spiritual side of life.

We're forgetting an important element - Spirit

Post by MistressOfTheMoon »

The Spirit is an important element indeed. But I do believe that we possess a part of the Spirit and that is our soul. This is the reason why we stand at the center of the circle and why we can control the elements (summon and banish them). We have the Spirit within us.

In reflection, I believe this entails that as humans, we must balance the four elements (Air, Earth, Fire, and Water) within ourselves first. For example, I have an imbalance of Fire (I am easily angered) and Water (I am highly emotional). When we have balanced these four elements within ourselves, then I believe it means that we have mastered the Spirit as well - since the Spirit balances the four elements.
