Health Potion (beginner's first potion!)

Post by JaceGem »

This is a simple potion I've been using whenever I've been ill with the cold or flu or a sore scratchy throat, and it's always worked a treat. I think it goes without saying but if you have something more serious than a cold or the flu please see a doctor first, there really is no better way to help your body with serious illnesses than with medicine.

Ingredients
~6-8 ounces of rose water
~lemon juice, about 2 tablespoons or to taste

Take the lemon juice and pour it into the water, stir clockwise and repeat this incantation two or three times

The body is ill but the mind is well
with lemon and rose I ask for health
Take my sickness and let it flee
Grant me good health so mote it be

If you wish, you may add a little bit of zest from the lemon rind for a small boost, the rind contains a good amount of Vitamin C that's sure to get you back on the road to good health in no time.

I like this, especially the incantation.
Was wondering if you are making the rose water? Some bottled rose waters have glycerin in them. Is that ok to consume?

Usually I make the rose water myself because I feel it adds a personal touch to the potion and boosts its power, but if you use a bottled rose water that has glycerin, I would check to see how much is in it. There should always be more water than glycerin.

I had to read that title twice because I'm tired. My brain insisted that it said "Hellish Potion." I may try the actual potion. It sounds well thought out.

To answer ff, glycerin is safe for consumption. It does have a bit of a laxative effect, so it could either solve a problem, or cause one.
