Sage is one of my rescue babies. We've been working on getting everyone spayed or neutered, and something prompted me to have her take Rory's appointment spot for today. I'm glad I listened. She was bleeding internally from a bladder tear, and her uterus was bruised. She came to us as a pregnant stray, and not all of her kits were born alive. The surviving kits are healthy and fixed. It's amazing to me now, that any of the three, Saige, Spirit and Salem survived. Poor baby has has a low grade internal bleed for a while now. The vet expects her to make a full recovery.

Saige most likely was injured before she ever came to us. The vet found a tear on the outer bladder wall when she opened the abdomen. One uterine horn was damaged, which accounts for her stillborn kits. She won't be in danger of bleeding out now, and we won't have to bury any more lost babies.
