Gem identification!

Post by ThePhoenyx »

Hi! I've had these loose gems hanging around since forever and I can't identify these ones. Any insight?

alrighty lest see how many i can help you with
First Post
the first is maybe blue opal or sapphire ??? im leaning toward the *blue opal because of the image at the bottom here*
the second one is moss agate
Second Post
the first one could be a lot of gems so im not sure just a general rule of thumb use it for protection because its a black stone
The second one looks like striped agate maybe, ive had one like that before myself and just cant remember the name of it for the life of me ><
the third kinda sorta looks like Azurite-Malachite but i dont really know its hard to tell because its rare for Azurite-Malachite to have that shade on it so again im not sure
Third Post
The Amethyst is all Amethyst just a very pale version of it (it means the grade of it is not so good) and the pure white on the base of it is just quartz that lack the purple of the amethyst its common to find amethyst with it because thats what amethyst is before it turns purple
Second kinda looks like Unakite
Third is Aragonite i do believe

My grandson has a " rock and mineral book somewhere. . I'll try to look up the stones. They all look familiar, but my memory is offline this morning.

I'm pretty sure the first one is a labradorite.
