Re: Echo's Witchy Things
I left the door on the altar open when I took the decks out two weeks ago. I thought this view of my Witchy stuff was cute.
Goodies counter-clockwise from top left:
Book of Shadows
Unknown plastic bag (how did that get there?)
Primary Magick supply box, has to be tipped on its side in order to fit
Jar of my all purpose herb blend (shameless self promotion)
Tea lights
Bottle of bits of loose tea
Two candles, the bottom is my Enchanted Woods candle
Jar of sea salt

Reason: The bag has been identified! It's the sandwhich baggie my candles came in. :P

Birthday Altar 2014
Top
Front
Wow, sorry about the crap quality. These were taken with the phone rather than the camera. This setup is for both my birthday as well as my rededication ceremony.
Features:
Bonus: There were two items present for the ceremony that aren't in the photos. I had my necklace given to me when I first joined my former coven, and the sash given to me when I had been in the coven for a year and considered a priestess. I didn't leave them up on the altar because I didn't want bad vibes from my feelings toward my former coven to interfere with birthday energies.

Re: Echo's Witchy Things
Aw, thank you! Yes, I do plan to post current photos as the wheel turns.
For the majority of the time that I've been a witch, I haven't been able to do much openly. Lughnasadh 2013 was the start of me being able to regularly celebrate the sabbats. It wasn't until Beltane 2014 that I was able to have my big altar set up on a regular basis. Decorating my altars and photographing them has been my way of keeping myself mindful of the Wheel of the Year.

Re: Echo's Witchy Things
Hah thats so awesome!
Im still setting up my alter, i still love with my parents and i have a tiny room. I plan to use my three teired wolf fountain as the base, or forcal point for my alter. I did decorate the mirrow behind my alter during Halloween and xmas and it looked great, but its the only space i have in my room to rest anything on so its abit crowded with other things.

Re: Echo's Witchy Things
I know how you feel. At our last place, most of my bedroom was used as storage space. My altar is an end table and it was being used to hold the TV, video game system and any assorted junk usually put there by my boyfriend. I tried using a little spot on top of the bookshelf, but that was a catch all spot that filled up all the time. Right before we started thinking about moving to a bigger place, I asked the gods if they could help me find a shelf to use as an altar. Now I've got both.
That sounds lovely. I wish I still had a fountain.LoneWhiteWolf wrote:I plan to use my three teired wolf fountain as the base, or forcal point for my alter.

Re: Echo's Witchy Things
Before I get started, I would like to say that these Imbolc altars are extra special. My cat, Dust Bunny helped me set them up. Helping means sitting on me, sitting on the big altar, sitting inside the big altar, playing with the pine cones I just removed from the mini altar, chewing on the mini altar, and smacking the mini altar.

Re: Echo's Witchy Things
Oooh, love the wood paneling. ;D my house is equipped with walls just like that and this "gorgeous" billiard table green carpet. Id love the wood paneling Id the carpet were different. Bleck! My room is the only bedroom in the house that has white walls. (:
I'm loving all your things, Echo! I always get excited when you post more in here! I can't wait to see what you have next.

Re: Echo's Witchy Things
Youre altars are just so nice!! Those LED flowers are a really nice feature!
Birch is one of my favourite tree's too, its silver bark is very eye catching. There a few of them in the cemetary in my town, there ghostly white figures sit amounst the cremated section. People hang wind chimes from them which adds to the ghostly effect!

Re: Echo's Witchy Things
@Sakura: I saw your green carpet in your pocket altar thread. That's a strange shade of green. I've seen a darker green carpet that does look pretty good with wood paneling. I spent my teen years in a house that had quite a bit of orange carpeting. It was hideous.
@LoneWhiteWolf: I think birch has the prettiest bark of all the trees. My favorite leaves are oak leaves. It must be very pretty to see the wind chimes hanging from the trees. The few times I've seen wind chimes at the cemetery where my family is, people had hung them from those shepherd staffs. Kind of unoriginal if you ask me.

Re: Echo's Witchy Things
Echo -- it could be so much better but the house was remodeled in the 70s so everything reflects that lol we have some pretty racist wallpaper too. "The Sioux Indian" is what it says under a very stereotypical Native imagery.
