Everything is Consciousness

There is an ancient Hindu idea that everything is consciousness. The analogy is comparison to a marble or rock which has been carved into different forms of sculpture - there are different forms in the rock, but they are carved out of rock. Similarly, all the forms in the universe are forms of consciousness, be they human, bird, insect, or inanimate object, they are all forms of consciousness; consciousness is the essence, the source.

While every thing may have been created out of consciousness and grows from that source I feel that we as people lost that privilege when we agreed to be born into human form, hence, losing the true spiritual path from which we came... and because of this we will forever have to fight consciousness against our subconscious (a place that holds every memory and feeling we ever had) to find our way home again... to go back to our place of being.
