Re: Temper/aggression/ peace of mind
First off, let's address the Rede (Rede means Advice, not Law). The rede is a poetic document that uses archaic language. If you try to read it as modern language you're going to run into trouble. OP you're asking about the "an it harm non, do what ye wilt" line, right? (So many people see...

Re: Silver Ravenwolf (Opinions liking or disliking wanted!)
I take it to mean YOU don't recognize frost giants (jotan) as a bad thing to call on. Never mind that the culturally relevant lore they come from is quite emphatic about their disdain for humans and attempts to invade Midgard. No, not really. I don't recognize 'frost giants' though in any way...not...

Re: Avoiding Self Sabotage
I do tend to worry about anyone who feels they are exempt from karma (whether they believe in it or not). I really hope you're not suggesting that belief in karma is necessary for ethical behaviour, because that is frankly insulting. To me past life karma helps explain why bad things happen to good...

Re: Avoiding Self Sabotage
Not all of us follow the karma model.
I would also add that self-sabotage can come from a fear of success. After all, with success comes greater expectations and responsibilities.

Re: Silver Ravenwolf (Opinions liking or disliking wanted!)
I am curious of what this 'danger' is that vigdisotter is speaking of? You mean OTHER then lying to parents (something with is a huge black mark right off the bat) as mentioned previously? I take it to mean YOU don't recognize frost giants (jotan) as a bad thing to call on. Never mind that the cult...

Re: Nebular Charms
Nebular? As in Nebula? An interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen, helium and other ionized gases? How is that made into a charm? http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110910070757AAxUtwI Ahhhhh. Thanks. Well now I'm wondering why it would be any harder to make into a charm then anything el...

Also, when someone starts making exclusive claims about "divine gifts" that's usually my cue to smile and walk away.

Re: Does such spell exist?
Magic is never going to replace hard work, but it can be an adjunct to it.
I would suggest a spell that works on your confidence, myself.

Re: Magic to help my mother?
1) The "witching hour" is always happening somewhere in the world because that is how time works, so really it's not that special. 2) Why would a physical world even open a rift between anything? The veil is what it is, and it's rather permeable to begin with. The only thing that really ch...

Re: Already getting criticized by my best friend
Honey, one thing to remember about humans--be they your age or otherwise--is that they HATE thinking they might be wrong. As a result they are easily threatened by that which is different. When they react in a defensive manner the best thing to do is roll your eyes and simply stop listening. Or laug...

Re: Silver Ravenwolf (Opinions liking or disliking wanted!)
First of all, while getting people's opinions on a book is a good thing, at the end of the day I think everyone should do their own reading an make up their own mind. I've seen a LOT of parroting online when it comes to $RW by people who have never once cracked open any of her books. And that's as b...

Re: No such thing as Christian Wicca
Well for what it's worth. I seem to think that the roots of Wicca predate the Bible and Christianity by thousands of years Why does that matter? You still have to very different theologies that have contracting ideas, which is the crux of the issue here. To blend them, you'd first have to deal with...

Re: Initiation
Initiation leads you into deeper Mysteries. For that to happen, the person do the leading must have experienced them him or herself first so that they can show you the door way. So if you haven't experienced them (and wouldn't be able to recognize them if you did) how are you going to show yourself ...

Re: No such thing as Christian Wicca
The thing is that Wicca and Witchcraft aren't the same thing. Witchcraft can indeed be spliced into other paths because it's a Craft, a set of practices and skills. It's like being a Christian Chef or a Christian Gardner. Wicca on the other hands is a religion with its own tenants and gods and expec...
