I am reading a book by Scott Cunningham; Living Wicca: A further guide for the solitary practitioner- and am on a passage discussing the Wiccan in all things and trying to see beyond that moment into what will become of it, this picture reminded me of that and I wanted to share it with you all

Is that some kind of hypericum plant?

It certainly does look like it, but I don't know the actual name of this flower.

And the cute little bee too.

How do you like the book. I read the guide for the solitary practitioner and just got living Wicca today so I'm curious what others thought.

It's really lovely.
Hypericum is especially magical when gathered at the Summer Solstice it's yellow color radiating out like a solar disk!
Hypericum is typically in full bloom by Litha (summer solstice), and is associated with that holiday.
This plant has been long associated with healing and getting oneself whole particularly mentally, It has the ability to relieve depressive symptoms as it works on the nervous system which may be directly linked to the devine spark of life. It leaches a red color like blood when made into an oil for injuries like cuts contusions and abrasions.
Although it can be phototoxic, just one more atribute to it's solar power.
So important an herb that the church took it on and named it St. John's Wort.
I totally see "life" in this plant ...It is Wic!
