Potion Safety

We have some really great recipes here for various potions. Thank you everyone. I want to bring something to our attention though. As wonderful as these potions are, they have the potential for adverse interactions with medications that some of may be taking. Some of the ingredients may also be harmful of fatal to our furred, feathered, or finned familiars. Or to our reptilian familiars. I couldn't come up with an f word for that one.

Please, please, for the safety of all concerned, check for possible interactions or adverse reactions before puttering with potions. The life you save, may be your own.

F-scaled? ;)

This is a good point. If you're unsure and you have a medical condition or are on medications, ask your doctor. They've heard it all before and it only takes a short phone call.

I would also point out some brews are not meant to be taken internally. They are for splashing, spritzing or washing places and/or items, (and maybe sometimes externally on people)
The ingredients of some of these things would be far too toxic to take internally ever, let alone be concerned if there was to be an interaction with ones medication.
However, if one is on medication it is wise to check all interactions with that med, this includes other meds, herbs and foods.
The wise witch researches her/his/their plant materials, knows their botanical names and the pitfalls of common names.
Happy brewing! :flyingwitch:
